Marjorie’s film, stage and television acting career spanned four decades. She appeared both in film and on stage, performing in a number of Broadway plays.

In 1979, aged 78, Eaton filmed scenes for The Empire Strikes Back, the second Star Wars film. Eaton portrayed the role of Emperor Palpatine, under heavy makeup, with superimposed chimpanzee eyes.
